On Thursday, June 20 at 6:58 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and 510th Street, five miles southeast of Ireton, IA.
Brody Nohava, age 34, of Le Mars, IA was driving a 2008 Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a grain trailer westbound on 510th Street. Stanley Meyer, age 61, of Ireton was driving a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan southbound on Elmwood Avenue. The two struck in the intersection.
Meyer was transported by Ireton Ambulance to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The grain trailer sustained approximately $1,500 in damage. The Chrysler sustained approximately $6,000 in damage.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Ireton Fire Department, Ireton Ambulance, Iowa State Patrol and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
