Recently, the Sioux County Jail was the recipient of a prestigious award from the Iowa Department of Corrections.
The award recognized the Sioux County Jail as being one of the best midsized jails in the State of Iowa. This award was the result of a nomination from the Iowa State Jail Inspector.
The State Jail Inspector conducts annual inspections on all of Iowa’s jail facilities; this award is given to jails who are the best of the best and have gone above and beyond their mandated requirements set by the State of Iowa.
Lt. Jason Bergsma and Jail Commander Judy Plendl traveled to the Iowa State Sheriff’s and Deputies Winter Conference in Des Moines where they were presented with the award.
Lt. Bergsma said, “we want to recognize and congratulate all of our Sioux County Jail Correctional Officers for their part in doing great work leading to this honorable achievement.”
